Thanks to Maurice’s support here is the T3000 home automation project I’ve been working on. I can see HVAC and HWT points in both buildings. Currently in December 2024, in Pennsylvania we are currently frozen, but in a few months spring time will be here and I will add the 300 gallon rain tank level input with drip tube irrigation solenoid output and soil moisture indicator to decide whether to irrigate each day. I run 200 feet of gravity fed drip tube around our house and it waters sunflowers and tomatoes and tall grass and herbs and berries that we plant each spring. The slow drip of rain water during sunshine each day grows some amazing plants. I’m going to write a program where if it hasn’t rained in a few days, the drip tube will drip for an hour or 2 that day. I’ve been experimenting with soil moisture sensors and custom tables, but I think I’m going with a float switch sitting in a 1" drain pan sitting in the sun direction and if there is water in the pan, we don’t need to irrigate that day. If is hasn’t rained in a day or 2, the sun will shine on the pan and evaporate the water, open the switch and we will irrigate that day at a set time. I’m not sure whether it’s better to water in the morning or the evening? I’ve heard ups and downs about either?
Our house has 2 water wells tee’d together, but sometimes we get carried away and still run out of water. There is a Temco CT connected to each deep well pump and I wrote a program where if either pump stays on more than 10 minutes, polka music starts playing loudly in the house, indicating a problem.
I’d like to get the email alarms working so I can write many alarm programs within the t3000 software and my house will email me any time there is a concern.
I’ll post more as I make progress. - Aaron
