Time Server Error

I have recently started to get “Time Server Update Failed” errors - showing up as an Alarm (ie alarm icon flashes red). This is strange because I had selected “Sync with local PC” (which is always on) and had not selected any remote time server (so of course it would fail - but why did it try?). I have reset and cleared the alarm message - but its a mystery why the alarms occur.

Question: is the “sync with local PC” just a single event or does it re-sync at intervals eg every day, week etc?

I tried sync to time server - after many “no reply from server” messages for various time servers, I successfully got an update from time.windows.com.

I then got stuck on daylight saving settings. Currently there is no daylight saving time (start/end dates defined). The option (UTC +13:00) NZ daylight saving is not conditioned by the defined start/end dates but applies UTC + 13 for the entire year. Daylight saving should apply on top of UTC + 12hr.

With defined start/end dates, I could not Disable daylight saving time. After I updated the dates for the coming summer, suddenly I could Disable. confusing…

“Sync with local PC” is a manual one‑time operation that must be triggered via T3000.

“Sync with time server” runs periodically once per day, and it may fail occasionally.

The “Time Server Update Failed” alarm you encountered is indeed a false warning. I have implemented an optimization so this warning will no longer pop up when “Sync with local PC” is selected.

Regarding daylight‑saving‑time configuration: you need to first select the base time zone, then configure the daylight‑saving schedule and enable/disable the DST function accordingly.
