Any plans to have a vav controller with built in dp tranducer and actuator?
Yeah, we had one nearly made it to production but got sidetracked as happens around here too often. Will dust off the old work and get that going asap.
I am HIGHLY interested in this. I would love a vav controller I can port sedona to since JCI killed EasyIO in the US Market. I have been scrambling trying to find a replacement, currently developing my vav code to run in another manufacturers vav control that runs niagara, but I would really prefer to run sedona in vav devices. Porting sedona to the other temco controllers has been on my list of things to do as well, but those are just not front burner controller types for me, but as far as a vav… that would certainly be a top priority and get front burner treatment.
I have already looked at the source code, and getting sedona to run on the new esp32’s wont be too terrible. The fact you are actually open source (unlike anything else out here these days) really helps a lot. If you are willing to share any hardware specs, drawings, etc… I would love to see, maybe provide some constructive feedback if needed, etc… I have worked on vav systems for 35 years so I have a little bit of experience with them… lol… every manufacturer gets some things right, some thigns wrong… sometimes I wish I had a magic box I could throw them all into and poof comes out the perfect device… lol
I appreciate your offer, we will be talking more soon.
Here’s a preview of where we were at. I wasn’t able to find a sample of the real cover, but you get the idea.
We’re now using the ESP32-S3 with 16M rom and 8M ram which gives you plenty of room for the VM. You will have some work with the porting but with the AI assisted development these days it should go quick. I can send you a sample in about a month.
