T3- Laptop comms etc

I am having trouble with comms failing between T3-BB and laptop when programming. About 30-50% of time when I “send” I get “..not responding” indication and eventually a program send timeout error.

I would like to check the “Health” indicator but the Program window is so large it obscures it - so I cannot check this.

Is there a way to resize the program windows?? Left-clicking the icon at top left of program screen has “size” & “move” options - but they dont work

Another thing:- CTRL-E dos not renumber my programs - is there some other shortcut for this??

I have the latest version of T3000 and firmware

Lijun will check and report back first thing Monday.

I am having issues (small and BIG) as I program my T3-BB. I am running T3000 on a Win10 laptop, with LAN connection to T3-BB via data-switch. My T3000 is up todate.

  1. I have occasional loss-of-contact between T3000 laptop and T3 controller which prevents sending to controller. After no response, I click the window, and programming screen banner then says (eg) “PRG4 (not responding)” and an hour-glass appears.
Eventually (30 sec?), the message “Write Program Code timeout!” appears, and I can retry.

Is it possible to set the timeout a bit shorter - eg 10 sec so I dont have to wait quite so long?

  1. Now I have a BIG problems!
    a) having previously sent and saved a program, sometimes I try to re-open a program and all I get is a blank screen - none of the previously sent/saved code!

b) I have a partly edited a program (PRG3) with a reported size of 1062 bytes when last “sent” - although it shows 864 bytes in main Program window. When I try to re-open this program, the blank PRG3 window opens, but rather than the code loading, T3000 simply crashes out. Every time (>10 tries) ! I cannot even clear PGM3!

I can open other programs (PRG1).

I loaded a saved copy of PRG3 into PRG4 - which opened ok initially but now opens to a blank screen.
I loaded a saved copy of PGM3 into PGM6 as well - which also opened ok initially, saved and sent, but now re-opens to a blank screen.

Attached is a screenshot of my “program” home page. Program 4 is the test copy of program 3 - but note the different size. Note also 100% health.

I have restarted my laptop - but no change

I am finding this EXTREMELY frustrating… I dont know how I will ever finish my project! With all these problems I only get about 10% productive programming time. Eg I will have to give up for today

Also attached is the .txt file of PRG3 BLOCK3 21AUG.txt (1.3 KB)

  1. When you open your saved code and find that it has disappeared, the status bar at the bottom should display “decode error”.
  2. We need to resolve the issue where T3000 crashes directly when opening your program. Please provide the prog file to me. You can use “File - Save” to upload the prog file, and I need it to fix the compiler’s bug.
  3. After writing code that causes T3 to crash, to solve the problem of being unable to open it, you can try “Clear Device” in Configuration. Please use this button with caution, as it will restore most contents to factory settings.

I will look out for the decode error indication.

Attached is the most recent Program file. This includes the faulty/corrupted PRG 3.
PRG file needs renumbering which may contribute to problem

If I “Clear Device” I understand that I can then re-load this program file to restore my work including all input, output, variable tables etc. Correct?

If you have previously saved a complete and correct prog file, you can load the previously correct prog file to solve the problem of T3000 crashing when opening PRG3.

I will also analyze your prog file immediately to prevent T3000 from crashing. Thank you.

Thanks. The only copy of the full program I have includes the faulty PRG3. So I will be no further ahead if I restore using that program. So, at this point I dont know how I will be able to restore.

Today, the controller happily opens the copies of PRG3 stored in PRG4 and PRG6, but still crashes trying to open PRG3. The PRG3-banner window opens for a few seconds but never populates with code, then suddenly T3000 disappears - no warning or trace

Is it possible to independently extract or Export the Input, Output and Variable tables?
If that is possible, then I could restore program from these tables plus saved individual program .txt files. (I have no graphics, schedules etc.)

It is unclear what caused the corruption of your PRG3. I cannot open it even with debug tools, but my UI will report an error. You can clear the entire PRG3 by sending an empty text.

I will also send you the prog file after clearing.

In the subsequent version of T3000, I will add a new button to clear individual PRGs, such as “clear PRG3”.
Thanks!

Thank you
I dont understand how to send an empty txt (file?) to PRG3. Would you please explain?

To load a blank TXT file I need to open PRG3 - but I cannot open it without crashing T3000.

I look forward to receiving the PROG. file with PRG3 cleared

The extra button sounds useful in situations like this. It might need an “are you sure?” check

Is there a chance to make the “send program timeout” a little shorter?
Is there any way I can export my Inputs, Outputs and Variable tables? It would be useful to document my project

Further question - what does the "Refresh (F8) button do. One time it cleared my program!

The first function of the refresh button is to read the program from the device again and display it to the user. The second function is to renumber the program line numbering.

I sent you the prog file in the previous reply. That program has PRG3 cleared which will fix your T3000 crashing issue.
