T3-8o vs T3E-886

I currently have a T3-8o that I am testing out for future work. I know I will need to buy the T3E-886 going foward. My question is, is there a big difference where I should be testing on the T3E-886 to ensure it will be stable for my use case? Or will testing on the T3-8o serve the same purpose?

They’re both equally stable, I’d go with the t3 series with on board controller if you’re just getting started with our gear, it has the on board programming, trend logs, alarms and floorplans.

The t3E series are slave devices, normally used as expansion io for the t3 series controllers.

Maybe one day when I get around to porting Sedona to those… But until then, I am just looking for high io count to grab non critical data, etc…
I guess what I am asking is if I design my bacnet or modbus points around the T3-8o and then get the T3E-886 will they match up or is the BACnet objects and/or modbus registers different?
