Newbie question, I have a T3-OEM reconfigured as a pressure controller. I may add 2-3 more Tstat10’s.
In order to connect via my home ethernet network what is the best way? direct via Rs485 to ethernet convert or do I need a bacnet controller?
I tried a RS-485 to ethernet but T3000 will not find it on the network…
thanks for any help
The T3-OEM doesn’t have an ethernet port so your best bet would be one of the T3-Nanos, it will transparently route all the subnet info over to the lan.
You could get at them over Modbus or Bacnet using a standard RS485 gateway type repeater but T3000 would only see them as 3rd party modbus or bacnet devices. A lot of packets T3000 uses to manage RS485 devices doesnt fit nicely into standard bacnet or modbus transmissions.
Does that mean that it is not possible to program the Tstat10 remotely over a BACnet network?
You will need an IP to RS485 converter such as the T3 controller or T3-nano for example, there’s some cheap ones in the clearance section for about $25.
