This will require a lot of restructuring of the inner workings of T3000 and the T3 controllers themselves. The only quick solution would be to just adjust the instance number to a smaller value. Let us know the reason for the high value and perhaps we can work something out, its a non trivial project.
Some Johnson control systems generate, deliberately long instance numbers that the field techs can’t change.
I can’t interface with two RTUs on a current project because of the long instance numbers.
The workaround that tech support offers is to purchase their hardware HMI and rework shorter instance numbers from the HMI and interface with the HMI?
Bummer, but the big corporation squeezed out the smaller competitors because we can’t do long instance numbers.
Searching the repo just now, the maximum Bacnet ID is 2^{22} - 2 = 4,194,302.
I will get the team to confirm on this though.
I personally don’t have a problem with, not doing a project that uses JCI gear.
I’m not hoping for you to make the change, I don’t know if there would be a $ payback. I just wanted to add to the knowledge base.
I warn the mechanical contractors, here in my stomping grounds, not to use vendors that use the JCI gear in the rooftop units.
